Zach Reese should win here but he has burned us before. Obviously the one time he burned us was under crazy circumstances where he was power bombed by Cody Brundage, so i can't really complain about the fact that he was KO'd, but I can complain about how. Zach has decent striking and clear power, but if he ends up on the ground he goes full jiu jitsu nerd. There's not much effort to work his way to his feet. He will hang out on bottom and look for old school submissions like triangle chokes and not create scrambles. Again, he should win here, but if he gets taken down and Medina is on top, Medina will lay down elbows and rip Zach up. Zach is the pick, but no way I lose 2 bets on him in a calendar year.
Jose Daniel Medina
Jose Medina is a ground and pound fighter with decent striking and dangerous top work. He is almost a throwback to the days of Mark Coleman but without the high level wrestling or headbutts. When he is striking he has clean boxing but nothing too crazy. He isn't particularly powerful or fast, but his hands are in the right places at the right times and he keeps it tight. His takedowns are also just ok, but when he ends up on top he does an awesome job maintaining positions and doling out damage. He is coming off a decision loss on the Contender Series where he couldn't defend the takedowns
Zach Reese
Zachary Reese is a massive guy for middleweight at 6'4 and he uses all that size and strength in his fights. He is very well rounded but mostly a powerful striker who absolutely uncorks. He does seem stiff and tightly wound, but he throws hard and technical. He doesn't initiate takedowns often but uses his takedown defense to end up on top. On the ground he has great BJJ from top and bottom where he uses his length well to wrap you up. He is coming off the KO win over Julian Marquez where he only needed 20 seconds.
