This is a tough fight to pick. I think Choi is certainly better than his record and Bill might not be as good as his. Which means we have 2 guys that are probably evenly matched but also unreliable. Algeo certainly has the experience edge and has been far more active. Choi has not won an MMA fight in 8 years but he is young, exciting and was on his way to beating Kyle Nelson. The pick will be Algeo, but he's burned us before and my recommendation is to keep your money far, far away from this fight.
Doo Ho Choi
Doo Ho Choi is an exciting fighter who has 5 fight of the night bonuses in only 7 UFC fights. Style wise he is a powerful striker with ok takedown defense. He does a great job throwing straight punches and staying active without getting wild. He is very talented and but has a spotty record. I blame the record though how quickly he was given ranked fighters. He is coming off a draw with Kyle Nelson that should've been a win but a 3rd round point deduction tied it up.
Bill Algeo
Bill Algeo is a fast paced striker with a karate style stance and hand placement. Because of that he has solid defense and a surprisingly high output of more than 6 significant strikes per minute. He likes a dirty standup war if he can keep it there. He does have some ok takedowns but a low 46% takedown accuracy and a 56% takedown defense. He has a BJJ black belt, great cardio, a fast pace and is super durable. He is coming off the stoppage loss to Kyle Nelson that many people feel was early because he was still standing and there was only a minute left in the round.
