This is definitely a low level heavyweight fight. Neither guy is particularly entertaining and outside of one knockout 2 years ago, neither has shown any real power. The pick will have to be Usman though. He is physically imposing and should be able to defend the takedowns. Neither guy is a great striker, so if it stays standing its anyone's sloppy decision, but Usman will be the pick and I actually think there is a little value in the -140.

Mohammed Usman

Mohammed Usman is a high level athlete who had college football experience. Style wise he isn't great at any one particular thing, but he is composed and will sit behind behind a jab while methododically working forward. He has very real power and can stay tough on the other end as well. While he is evolving, he still hasn't managed to put everything together for a fight. Meaning we see fights where he is all in on the wrestling and fights where he is all in on the striking, but none where he is working it all together.

Thomas Petersen

Thomas Peterson is a solid wrestler who will work everthing from bear hugs to doubles. His striking isn't great, but he will close the gap with straight punches while marching forward and then when he gets you against the cage, he will be busy in the clinch. If Petersen can't take his opponent down, he is trouble. But if he can, he has great control and ground and pound. He is coming off the decision loss to Jamal Pogues where he was sloppy and tired, but continued moving forward the entire time.
