I'm going to start this off by saying Gabriel Bonfim is the biggest favorite on this card and that Ange Loosa does not suck. You may look at it quickly and assume he is not very good but that's not the case. His 2 UFC losses are credible and he is insanely durable. I think Gabriel is the better all around fighter because not only does he have the boxing, but he also has big takedowns and solid BJJ. The only real question here is has he fixed his cardio? If he can't get Ange out of there early, does he crumble like he did against Dalby? Or will be continue to move forward and fight? I am definitely skeptical of Gabriel in this matchup because of how durable Ange is, but the difference between Ange and Dalby is that Dalby is dangerous and has non stop pressure both wrestling and striking. Ange is all strikes and not dangerous. Gabriel will be the pick and even though he seems to be an easy Safety Parlay leg, this is definitely a “fool me once” situation.
Gabriel Bonfim
Gabriel Bonfim is a very solid striker with high level boxing credentials as well solid BJJ. He is a well rounded guy who despite being more patient than his brother, has still never seen a scorecard. When he gets it to the ground he is methodical with his control and works to positions first then submissions. He is coming off the the “fraud check” loss to Nicolas Dalby where he dominated the fight early, but had no answer when Dalby was still standing in front of him after he emptied his tank.
Ange Loosa
Ange Loosa is a durable striker with decent volume, solid power and an incredible chin. He pumps his jab like crazy and throws nice low kicks to manage range and keep his opponents backing up, he can have a little trouble when you come at him and pressure forward but his volume of more than 6 significant strikes landed per minute do a good job of keeping people away. He has a 90% takedown defense and just gave up his very first takedown against Bryan Battle in a fight where he was likely going to lose but was poked in the eye so it was declared a No Contest.
