This fight was just announced and we don't have odds yet. If i were the one capping this fight, I would have it somewhere near a -120 for Dolidze. He is the more durable and certainly the more dangerous of the two. Short notice isn't a huge factor because both of these men are sliding in late. Size will certainly be the difference here with Dolidze moving up 20lbs but I still think he can move forward, work the cage control, potentially get a takedown. Dolidze has an incredible chin so even if Smith has success, he won't get finished here. The bet I will place here, as I have placed on every single other Dolidze fight is WITD Dec. no action
Roman Dolidze
Roman Dolidze is a world champion grappler who has showcased those skills more than one time in the Octagon. Despite almost always being the better grappler, he has no problems marching forward, throwing heavy punches and getting stuck in a striking match. He has very real power which he does tend to chase with. Dolidze is a very well rounded fighter who can knock you out or submit you, but he doesn't always have the best gameplans and can fade later in fights. He is coming off the one sided loss to Nassourdine Imavov where he was knocked down, had his strikes quadrupled and went 0-4 in takedown attempts.
Anthony Smith
Anthony Smith is a striker with fantastic hands and solid kicks. We also know he has very good jiu jitsu with submission wins over several ranked fighters. He is incredibly tough and arguably too tough for his own good because he has taken some beatings that were career changing – see the glover fight as a reference. He is at a weird point in his career where he is well past his prime, focusing on his analyst career, but can still be competitive. He is coming off the submission win over Vitor Petrino where he had early leg kick success then sucked up a guillotine.
