This pick comes down to whether or not you think Joe Pyfer is the fraud from Philly. I know thats a harsh thing to say but the reality is that he looked horrible in his last fight. He has a ton of power, but thats it. There was no creativity in his offense, no backup plan and no ability to stop Hermansson's forward pressure. If thats a guy you want to lay out -260 odds then, then you're in luck… Joe is clearly a skilled guy who can win this fight, but until I see him beat someone who isn't chinny and has a winning UFC record, he's a fade.
Joe Pyfer
Joseph Pyfer is an incredibly powerful striker who has slick BJJ in his back pocket. He hits like an absolute truck and uses his pressure to break people. He also has nice clean takedowns and has solid BJJ as well. He is coming off the fraud check loss to Jack Hermannson where he was completely outstruck by a grappler. He had flashes of power, but no defense, no kicks and no head movement.
Marc-Anre Barriault
Marc-Andre Barriault is a well rounded fighter with solid kickboxing, takedowns and jiu jitsu. He is typically looking to pressure forward and wear you down on your feet. He has impressive striking volume with almost 6 signifigant strikes landed per minute, but he is also hit with more than 5. He is not a particularly powerful striker but he is busy enough and tough enough to grind out wins. He is coming off the back and forth loss to Chris Curtis
