We have an incredible DraftKings slate to look through! First, before we get into the plays, let's ensure we lock in the event details so we don't miss out on any action. This event occurs Saturday, August 5th, 2023, at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The prelims will kick things off at 6 pm Eastern and the main card at 9 pm Eastern. Here are the core plays that I plan to use with my DraftKings lineups;
Raoni Barcelos vs. Kyler Phillips
Bantamweight fight! Phillips is coming off a finishing win from a little over a year ago. Barcelos is coming off a loss and is the slight underdog. Phillips is quick on the feet and the striking is not bad at all. The takedown defense is something that is needed to be aware of for Phillips. Barcelos is a pacemaker and will take down fighters with ease. Barcelos is nice on the feet despite coming off a knockout loss. Barcelos should win this fight overall and can keep the pace in his favor especially coming in at the DraftKings price tag of $7,200.
Carlston Harris vs. Jeremiah Wells
Welterweight fight and Wells is the favorite coming into this fight. Wells is on a winning streak. Harris is coming off a win while both of these fighters last fought 3 months ago. Wells has knockout power which we have seen along with nice takedowns. Wells will try to push the pressure. Harris is okay on the feet and will try to wrestle mainly. This is going to be an all-out clash. I am liking Wells by a hair at the DraftKings price tag of $8,500.
Dustin Jacoby vs. Kennedy Nzechukwu
A light heavyweight fight with Kennedy being the slight favorite. Kennedy is coming off three finishing wins. Jacoby on the other hand is coming off of two decision losses. Jacoby loves to kickbox which we know he has a history in. Kennedy has nice defense and the cardio is there for him. Kennedy should win this fight and he is never out of the fight at the DraftKings price tag of $8,400.
Cory Sandhagen vs. Rob Font
The main event catchweight fight! Sandhagen is coming off two wins as the huge favorite in this fight. Font is coming off a knockout win. Font is coming into this fight on short notice. Sandhagen has huge volume on the feet and has leg kicks for days. Font is nice on the feet and very sharp there. Sandhagen is going to be quicker on the feet and has the wrestling edge. Sandhagen should win this fight at the DraftKings price tag of $9,300.
