I saw these odds and thought they were crazy. -600 for Yazmin? Someone who has lot 2 of 3 by KO? But then I did the full deep dive and was reminded that Vanessa has no power. If power is off the table and we are just matching skills, Yazmin is probably the better fighter. She’s a little cleaner, has better pressure and solid combinations. Vanessa is busy, but its kind of for no reason – she’s not setting up clean takedowns, she isn’t throwing in combinations or working towards power, she is just moving and throwing and hoping for the best. Vanessa is much better than these odds, but I do think Yazmin gets the win here.

Yazmin Jauregui

Yazmin Jauregui is a powerful striker with solid takedown defense She has fantastic pressure and very impressive combinations. She will enter the pocket with a high kick, then finish with overhands and uppercuts. If she smells blood she will fire everything at you to get the finish. As impressive as her striking is, her grappling is solid as well. She has fantastic body lock takedowns and takedown defense that she uses to end up on top. She is coming off the submission loss to Ketlen Souza where she was dropped and then submitted.

Vanessa Demopoulos

Vanessa Demopoulos is a solid striker who likes the pocket. She doesn’t have real power but she does have volume and footwork. If it does get to the ground Vanessa has solid grappling and can make something happen. Her takedown defense is a very low 26% and it failed her in her last fight but that didn’t matter because she was also out struck by Jamey Lyn-Hrth 101 to 36.
