This is the first Ultimate Fighter finale on the card and this one is the women’s straw weight finale.

I’m going with Tina here. I am a bit worried about the takedown defense, but watching their striking, I think she has a huge advantage. She is aggressive and loves to fight in the clinch which is exactly where she needs to be to win this matchup because of the length. I have no idea why 70% of people on Tapology are picking Amaya but imagine my disappointment when I saw that and then sprinted to the the book to bet on Tina, only to see that she was already a considerable favorite.

Tina Black

Tina Black is not only not her actual name, its not even close to her real name. Her real name is Valesca Machado that morphed into Tina black from childhood nicknames and references to her hair before she shaved it. i am telling you that in case you want to head out into the world and do your own research. Anyway, she’s a nasty striker who moves forward and as no problem engaging. She throws knees, elbows, punches and works the clinch. She is comfortable everywhere on the feet and the ground as well. While she is mostly a striker she will absolutely work in takedowns and then high level submissions.

Melissa Amaya

Melissa Amaya is a solid striker and very good grappler. She is very tall and long for the weight class. She tries to jab at distance and stay long before closing and working to the ground. On the ground she has good control and can pass through positions before looking for TKOs or submissions. She is very tough and doesn’t quit.
