Sean O’Malley vs. Yadong Song

OMALLEY VS YADONG

What's O'Malley's normal walkout song? the normal one, not the one he did in his last fight when he was trying to get cheap American support. “If you are, who you say you are, a super star…” well I will use that logic here. If he is who they say he is, then he should win. He has a win over the current Bantamweight champion of the world and while I didn't agree with that decision at the time, I can acknowledge that O'Malley showed us how tough he can be. I am in a weird spot here because I think Sean is a bit overrated, but I do recognize how good he can be. The tricky part here is that he is more of a sniper with the hands where Yadong might be more versatile overall. I'm going to lean O'Malley though, his entire career is coming down to this fight. It's one thing to lose to Merab, it's another to lose in a feature fight to a striker. Sean's clean counter striking should be a step ahead of Yadong's forward pressure. I don't love these -175 odds though, so we will see if they tighten come fight night. But if i find out he's drinking, smoking, fucking women aren't his wife, then maybe those odds do make sense.

Sean O'Malley

Sean O'Malley is a very good striker with very real power and accuracy. He is athletic and pretty much does whatever he wants on his feet including a wide array of kicks and spinning techniques that actually land. We know he can be an absolute dog and we know he can fight a technical fight. His biggest asset is his pin point accuracy and his ability to use his reach well. He is coming off the loss to Merab where he got rid of weed, alcohol, podcasting and other women.

Yadong Song

Song Yadong is a technical striker who moves well. He's fast, he hits hard and he's athletic, but he can be hittable at almost 4 signifigant strikes absorbed per minute. He throws everything with power which can leave him open to takedowns, but he's very good at creating space and getting back to his feet. He does like to dictate the pace, but did show us that even when fighting a very good grappler, like Ricky Simon, he will let his hands go and trusts his defense. He is coming off the bounce back win over Henry Cejudo that was stained by an eye poke.
