I am actually surprised these odds are even because as soon as I saw this matchup, i picked Bryczek, I honestly wasn’t even that worried about it. Obviously we have seen some grappling holes on his side, like his last fight against Cam. But Rodolfo is old, slowing down and I think Bryczek’s speed will be way too much here. I’m picking the striker to beat the grappler. Not sure if he will get a finish, but fairly confident he dots his way to a win.
Rodolfo Vieira
Rodolfo Viera is a freak athlete with incredible BJJ. He is a world level BJJ competitor with more than one international title. He is incredibly explosive with his takedowns attempts, but technique can get the best of him. While his gameplan is always to get it to the ground, he can have some success on his feet with clean striking. He is starting to age out and slow down and we saw that in his last fight against Eric McConico.
Robert Bryczek
Robert Bryczek is a trained boxer who takes those techniques into the cage. He is light on his feet and plots his way forward while fainting and pumping a jab. He keeps his eyes forward and is fully dialed in. He is not high volume but his constant feints and big power create issues for people. His takedown defense is hit or miss and if you don’t fall for the feints and shoot a clean shot up the middle you can take him down. He is coming off the decision loss to Cam Rowston where the takedown defense was an issue.
