I get Rodolfo being a favorite and I agree with it, but the concern here is he doesn't love to strike. If Eric brings the pressure, he could get Rodolfo to take desperate shots and then dot him up on the feet. I think Rodolfo is overall the better fighter and certainly the better grappler. Age is somewhat of a factor, but McConico is also on the back end of his career. Probably staying away from this fight betting wise because even if Eric isn't great, he might be good enough to keep this standing and win with shear pressure.
Rodolfo Vieira
Rodolfo Viera is a freak athlete with incredible BJJ. He is a world level BJJ competitor with more than one international title. He is incredibly explosive with his takedowns attempts, but technique can get the best of him. While his gameplan is always to get it to the ground, he can have some success on his feet with clean striking. He is coming off the head kick KO loss to Bo Nickal.
Eric McConico
Eric McConico is a solid grappler who is comfortable striking, but ultimately looking to close the distance and grind fights to the ground. Even though he wants fights on the ground, he doesn't always force them there. Many times he will wait to catch a kick or sneak in a trip without rushing and shooting. When fights do get to the ground Eric does a nice job passing through positions and finding control before working to submissions. He is coming off the late KO loss to Baisangur where he was having a good amount of success.
