Are people really trusting Rinat in 2025? After his last few performances I think it's clear that he may not be the person we thought he was. He almost got finished by Zaleski, then he almost gets finished by Dalby, then he gets a gift decision by Leal. This is not a trust worthy man. If Rinat doesn't get easy takedowns, he fades and falls apart. I'm going with Gustafsson here. We haven't really seen him defend takedowns at any meaningful level so there are concerns there, but he's a savage with unrelenting pressure and thats a guy I can trust.
Rinat Fakhretdinov
Rinat Fakhretdinov is a wrestler who throws bombs and is willing to strike. He is constantly pressuring forward, throwing big one twos and then bending over to grab legs and work a takedown. When he gets on top, he pounds away and is looking for a TKO more than a submission. Even though he has plenty of power in his hands and high level wrestling, he is not a finisher and does fade as fights go on. He is coming off the gift decision win over Carlos Leal where he went 2 for 19 in takedown attempts.
Andreas Gustafsson
Andreas Gustafsson is a solid grappler with actual wrestling skills. Like most wrestlers he comes forward, throws a ton of strikes that are designed to back you up to the cage before taking you down and working. When he gets you to the ground he will soften you up with elbows before looking for submissions. Despite being a grappler he has very real power in his hands and is always looking for a finish. He is coming off the underdog win over Khaos Williams where in his own words “he went full retard”.
