Rhys McKee vs. Axel Sola

MCKEE VS SOLA

Axel is a 155lber stepping up on short notice at 170, but he does have some experience at welterweight and is a pretty huge lightweight. This is a great fight to know if Rhys is actually UFC caliber or not. I mentioned he started his UFC career 0-4, but all 4 of those losses were credible and a couple of them were very close. Rhys is long and rangy, but Axel is fast and powerful. I have no idea how good Axel is or is not, because we haven't seen him fight anyone any good and I have seen him in trouble. I think I am fading the short notice come up and slightly leaning Rhys here. He is frustrating long, frustratingly durable and has made the Octagon walk before.

Rhys McKee

Rhys McKee is a long striker who has accuracy, speed and power. He does a great job piecing people apart from the outside and then rushing in when he has his openings. He typically tries to avoid grappling, but he does have solid cage control. He is coming off his first UFC win after a stretch of 34 losses over 5 years.

Axel Sola

Axel Sola is a young French prospect getting his first crack at the big show. He is a solid boxer with a clean jab. he has an interesting stance with low hands, but he throws incredibly hard and does a great job pumping a jab then mixing in heavy leg legs. His take down defense is just ok, but if it fails him, he has solid enough submission defense to stay safe and work up. He has evolved his game and has offensive takedowns as well. He is fast with plenty of explosive action.
