I hate that the UFC has turned the page on Fiziev and he is now the guy they will use to promote young studs. And not only are they suing him here to promote Torres, they are doing it in his own backyard. Whether they will be successful in that s the entire point of this video. Whats challenging about this break down is Fiziev today and FIziev just 2 years ago are very different people. He has been in so many wars that his chin is starting to fade. I do all my research, analysis, picks and write ups weeks in advance, thats how I am able to upload these videos every Sunday no matter what. And I mention that because my analysis of Fizeiv 2 weeks ago is a bit different than today. 2 weeks ago i focus on the chin of Fiziev and how Gaethje dropped him bad and then Ruffy actually finished him. The Whitehouse card happened and suddenly those 2 losses aren't so bad. Fizev was always the better striker and honestly the better wrestler, but his chin is questionable and we know Torres is a savage in scrambles on the ground. I'm going to 180 my pick here, sometimes your record really is a reflection of your competition and after watching the white house card, I can't say a win over Grant freaking Dawson is on the same page as a loss to Mauricio Ruffy. Fiziev will be the pick because he is the better striker, has dog in him and can wrestle if he needs to.
Rafael Fiziev
Rafael Fiziev is a phenomenal striker with a traditional Muay Thai style. He has incredible power and volume. He mixes his punches and kicks up well which is expected from such a high level striker and coach. Even though he is one of the most technical strikers in the division, he will absolutely get sucked into fire fights and abandon those techniques to chase a KO. He is coming off the KO loss to Mauricio Ruffy
Manuel Torres
Manuel Torres is a well rounded guy who has dangerous striking and dangerous grappling. His striking isn't technical but he uses his knees from the clinch really well and loves throwing head and legs kicks. He is long and skinny and he really does a great job working with that – his submission are long limb style submissions with triangles, power guillotines anything that uses leverage. Same logic with his clinch work. He is coming off the KO win over the horrendous Grant Dawson
