We are heading back to the Apex to see former champ Belal Muhammad fight Gabriel Bonfim in an attempt to remain relevant in the division. Should be a fun fight card top to bottom, we have some sneaky fun KO potential fights and hopefully it’s a lot of fun for DFS too.

Alessandro Costa

Schnell stinks and is on his way out of the UFC. Costa should be able to find a finish here against the chinny Matt Schnell, but he will need to do it quickly in order to payoff his salary this week. 

Marcus McGhee

Marcus is the more seasoned and polished of the two in terms of UFC experience, and he will have the higher output by close to double significant strikes per minute. I like his chances of pushing the pace and finding a 2nd or third round KO when Yannis tires out.

Iwo Baraniewski 

One of these two guys is going to sleep, there is no chance this goes to the cards. Iwo is super powerful, a little reckless, but this is a favorable matchup because Tafa is pretty dang mediocre. I think we see another wildly fun and fast finish here, get one of these two into your lineup no matter what.

 

$8,000 – $8,900 PRICE POINT

Bryce Mitchell 

He has legit only lost to the elite in the division, and gets the young prospect Luna who Bryce should be able to control with grappling and find a submission or tko finish. Luna is a good young fighter, so this fight you will probably need one of them in your lineup, but I am siding with the savvy veteran here. 

Bruno Silva 

Bruno has to wrestle here, and he averages almost a takedown per round and this will be one of the easiest opponents he’s faced in years. Similar output on the feet, better grappling by Silva, so he is the pick.

Priscila Cachoeira

This is more than likely a fight where at least the loser is getting cut from the promotion, if not both if it’s a boring fight. I fully expect these two to come out swinging and someone get slept as they look to keep their jobs, she’s the underdog and has higher output on the feet in a matchup of mostly strikers. 

 

Under $8,000 PRICE POINT

Gabriel Bonfim

This will come down to who can control and initiate the wrestling, and if Bonfim does not jump gilly and put himself into a bad spot. Belal had his run, but now he is going to have to once again fight the young up and coming guys and I think he is going to get clipped here by Gabriel. He is a younger, more powerful version of Belal, so for that reason I am siding with him. 

Edman Shahbazyan

He has crazy  KO power, and these two guys are pretty dang similar in their offensive output, defensive metrics, even size and reach. Allen has fought better competition for sure, but Edmen has the ability to end the fight at any moment on the feet, and I think if he wins it is by KO which would make him pay off his salary.

Tom Nolan

Ziam is very good, but so is Nolan and he will be a significant underdog here. He is the cleaner striker, has more power, and Ziam will be looking to grapple but more than likely will be clenching against the cage so he can try to avoid Nolan’s submission game. A win by Tom should easily 10x his salary so he is for sure in play.
