This is wrestler vs grappler and I am picking the wrestler. I think Nurullo gets past the teap, gets a takedown and rides out Shem on top. I did a lot of digging into Shem's grappling and he can definitely grapple both on top and off his back, but he overreacts to being hit so a couple of elbows from Nurullo on top will definitely have him out of sorts. Shem can be fun and is certinaly a hyped prospect on the English scene, but i think he loses a boring decision and we refer to him as a jiu jitsu nerd going forward.
Nurullo Aliev
Nurullo Aliev is a dominant wrestler who has been competing his entire life. People love to compare him to Khabib and thats not a crazy comparison to make. He obviously hasn't accomplished anything in this sport, but as far as style and execution are concerned, he has the same forward wrestling pressure style. He has decent striking as well where he is light on his feet and pumps a jab to work in for takedowns. His takedowns are powerful and relentless but aren't the fastest. He is coming off the win over Joe Solecki where he had 2 takedowns and 8 minutes of control
Shem Rock
Shem Rock is a long lean grappler who does an amazing job transitioning from wrestling to jiu jitsu. He doesn't shoot a takedown then look for control. He shoots a takedown and while he is running it, he's looking to advance his position. He isn't just a desperate grappler, he will use his range and southpaw stance to throw out teep kicks and manage range. I wouldn't say his striking is good, but its serviceable and he uses it to setup his grappling.
