Yaroslav Amosov is a welcomed addition to the UFC and Neil Magny is the perfect person to test him and find out if he is as much of a bust as Patchy Mix, or if he is the real deal. Neil has the most amount of wins in welterweight history and can be a tricky night out for anyone. He can strike, he can grapple, he has high level experience and fantastic cardio. I think the UFC did a great job in this matchup because Yaroslav should win. Neil's worst skill is his takedown defense and Yaroslav is a great wrestler. If he wins, then we have some fresh blood in the welterweight division. if he loses, then who cares, people don't know who he is yet and Neil Magny gets another win. Yaroslav is the pick and I'm as confident as you can be in a Bellator fighter debuting in the UFC.
Neil Magny
Neil Magny is an incredibly well rounded guy and seems to be the UFC's go to when it comes to getting other vets competitive fights or testing prospects. He's pretty tough and very experienced. He is skilled everywhere but mostly a busy striker. He does have very solid grappling as well with an average of more than 2 takedowns per fight. He is 24-12 in the UFC and fought a who's who of the division. He is coming off the controversial win over Jake Matthews where the referee stopped the fight in the first round because he thought Neil was unconscious, but then let the fight continue and Neil found his own submission in the 3rd.
Yaroslav Amosov
Yaroslav Amosov is a guy who does a lot of the same things you would expect an “ov” to do. He has fantastic chain wrestling, very good cardio and can stick to a gameplan. He has striking as well and while he won't be one punch KO'ing many people, he has no problem sticking around for a striking match which will set up the takedowns. He does wear damage though so he shouldn't be striking for too long.
