This fight was original scheduled for Winnipeg and all seemed well but at the last minute Mitch got very sick so the fight was scrapped.
When I broke this fight down a few months ago, I picked Mitch to win. I have to assume he is 100% healthy and ready to go. I wouldn't normally stay on the same side after a cancelation like that, but this wasn't an injury or illness related to weight cutting so definitely something that you can get over in a week or so and then right back into camp. The big difference though between Mitch's last opponent and this one is that his last opponent was all wrestling and no BJJ where as Nascimento is all BJJ and no wrestling. So in theory this is a favorable matchup for Mitch. If i didn't see Nascimento's last fight i would probably pick him here, but his striking was atrocious and he was afraid to get hit. I'll take a shot at the dog because as long as Mitch stays safe on the ground, he dominates the striking here.
Mitch Raposo
Mitch Raposo is a New England Cartel guy and like the rets of hs team, he has clean boxing, clean striking and wrestling gaps. He is only 27 years old but he has been training since middleschool. He has more power than most, clean striking and is very comfortable in the cage. He can be hittable because his hands are low but he has a decent enough chin. He is coming ff the upset win over Azat Maksum where he was taken down 7 times, but ran away with the striking.
Allan Nascimento
Allan Nascimento is a fun grappler who has ok striking. He doesn't have much to offer in the wrestling department but he has no problem getting into a brawl, getting taken down and working sweeps and submissions from there. The problem is if he can't get those sweeps or create a scramble, he ends up on bottom the whole fight getting pounded on. He has ok power in his hands but a low 23% takedown accuracy and 37% takedown defense. He is coming off the submission win over Cody Durden where his striking looked terrible and he was afraid to get hit.
