Interesting breakdown here because Mick Parking is slow, boring and not great, but Johnny Walker is insanely unreliable and we have no idea what he will look like at heavyweight. The issue here is that I have no reason to believe that Mick Parkin is chinny, which means if you think Johnny wins, you think he wins a decision, which is not impossible but certainly not the standard path of victory for Walker. I don’t know if i can sit in this chair looking as good as I look and say Johnny Walker wins a decision, but I kinda have to. Mick probably isn’t athletic enough to hang on the feet and even though he has ok grappling, it isn’t great. I am going to very cautiously pick Johnny Walker here, but staying far away from him as a favorite.

Mick Parkin

Mick Parkin is a good sized heavyweight who does a great job slowing the pace to where he wants it. He will come forward, throw one twos and then get a hold of you so he can take away any of your sting, slow you down and potentially get a takedown. He has solid BJJ and will shoot his shot on submissions, but also uses it well to keep control on top. He is not particularly fast, but he does a good job keeping up his striking volume and staying safe. He is coming off close decision loss to Marcin Tybura which could’ve gone either way.

Johnny Walker

Johnny walker was a big, athletic light heavyweight at 6′ 6, and now a big athletic heavyweight. He follows a long list of guys moving up in weight to reinvent their careers. He’s big, he’s fast, powerful and wild. He’s fun to watch and gets very creative with his striking. He’s very unorthodox and very dangerous because all of his crazy striking techniques have legit power behind them. The problem with Johnny is that he is chinny as hell and seems to have lost some of his craziness and his craziness is what got him to where he is. He is coming off the split decision loss to Domick Reyes that many people felt he won.
