Another weird odds spot here. I understand Henrique is solid, but he's not dangerous and relies on wearing people down. That just isn't going to work here. Meng is a menace. He's too experienced, too crazy, too dangerous, too good of a grappler to be caught up in some Jose Henrique nonsense. His nickname is the Ruthless Asian and its incredibly fitting. He has 28 knockout wins which is 3x the amount of total fights that Henrique has. I see Meng running forward, getting Henrique on his back foot and putting him away. Meng is the pick and i threw a half unit on his at -115 before these odds get nuts.
Meng Ding
Meng Ding is an exciting guy who didn't have success on the Contender Series but has had an incredible amount of success otherwise. He has almost 50 fights worth of experience but when you watch him fight, he fights like a young prospect. While he is relatively young at 31, his fighting style screams 23. He runs forward, throws like crazy then usually drops for a takedown. He will throw kids from everywher,e punches from his hips and then rip blast doubles. When he is on top he has incredible ground and pound where he raining down everything he can to get the fight stopped.
Jose Henrique
Jose Henrique is a long lean guy who likes to fight at range. He is insanely hittable but pretty tough and has more than one rally win. What he likes to do is clinch so he can try to use his long knees and eventually squeeze in a takedown. He doesn't have a ton of power, but he does wear people down and just keep moving forward. There isn't a ton of footage of his grappling, but they do claim he is a “jiu jitsu fighter”.
