Every week there is always one fight that not only has the community split, but everyone, regardless of their pick, is 100% certain that they are correct. This is that fight. Anyone picking Gamrot will insist Quillan sucks and anyone picking Quillan will insist Gamrot is chinny. Unfortunately, everyone is correct. Clearly Quillan can be dangerous, but I think he's overrated and even in his recent wins, he was struggling before the big finish. Mateusz is also a high level guy but pretty one dimensional and can be chinny. You know i historically favor my wrestlers but I have slowly been coming around to the idea that judges don't like wrestling as much as I do. But back to my old ways, the pick is Gamrot. i think he gets the takedowns and i think whatever danger Quillan has, fades after the first or second round because of all the defensive wrestling.
Mateusz Gamrot
Mateusz Gamrot is a busy wrestler with decent striking and a diverse set of attacks. He doesn't have incredible power on his feet, but he's busy and and pushes a pace. Gamrot can out wrestle pretty much everyone in the division with his relentless pace and non stop takedown attempts. Unfortunately he is very chinny, even though his striking technique is there, his chin is not. He has been dropped in 6 of his 13 UFC fights but did avoid being dropped by Esteban Ribovics in his last fight where he had 4 takedowns and a second round sub..
Quillan Salkilld
Quillan Salkilld is a good striker who uses kicks really well to manage range and work the body. As soon as you are comfortable striking with him, he will lower his level and shoot. He's a BJJ blackbelt and overall a very well rounded guy who can fight at distance or in the pocket. He is perfectly fine with an ugly fight but at times can chase a finish instead of settling in. He is incredibly dangerous and did just finish Beniel Dariush after being taken down twice.
