When i saw Mario Pinto was such a tremendous favorite over a guy with a good record i was surprised, then i did the research and now it makes sense. Felipe is clearly a bit of a fraud. He is obviously a physical specimen and a very good wrestler, but his cardio sucks and he's only fought horrendous competition. The one time he fought someone decent was against a gym teacher who took it on short notice at light heavyweight and he was submitted. Mario should be able to knock Felipe's head clean off his body, but I'm still going to stay away here. Felipe might be Jailton 2.0 where he is a bit of a clown shoe, but a good enough wrestler to get some good wins. Mario is the pick, but likely staying away.
Mario Pinto
Mario Pinto is a technical striker who takes his time to find a rhythm before settling in and letting his hands go. He does a nice job working leg kicks as well. His striking defense is interesting where he tends to lean his head back to avoid strikes instead of footwork, but he is definitely talented. He can grapple as well with solid takedown defense and really good top work if he ends up there. He is coming off the KO win over Jhonata Diniz
Felipe Franco
Felipe Franco is a grappler with an incredible record that I suspect is a bit fraudulent. He basically wings punches like crazy, then shoots a takedown and then chills. He has finishes on his record but they are mostly against horrendous competition. He has solid top control when he is on the ground with good pressure. His striking is pretty bad but he throws hard. Physically he is a beast, but as we saw in his contender series fight, he can be more hammer than nail when he lost a fight that he was winning with 12 seconds left. He is coming off 2 regional wins at heavyweight to earn his way into the big.
