The UFC is lacking star power in the heavyweight division, so they went out and gobbled up a 35 year old with 6 losses. Remember when i sat here and said Aaron Pico was good, and remember when I sat here and said Pitbull can win in his UFC debut? Well lesson learned, non UFC fighters suck shit. Do i want to pick Ante? I sure do. Dude can wrestle, he can strike and we just saw how absolute dog shit Marcin is off his back. But I can't, i can't keep making the mistake of picking non-UFC fighters in these matchups. So the pick is Marcin, but damn is Ante a great underdog here. This likely comes down to who shoots first.
Marcin Tybura
Marcin Tybura is a grinder who never quits and is busy everywhere. His striking is just ok and while he doesn't have heavyweight power, he does have volume. The strikes are really there to setup his takedowns. If he gets a takedown he will pound on you till you quit and doesn't need to look for submissions. Tybura averages a little more than one takedown per fight but has a low 33% accuracy. Instead of clean doubles and shots he relies on body locks and trips to get it to the ground. He is coming off the decision win over Mick Parkin where he only attempted 2 takedowns and we found out he is useless off his back.
Ante Delija
Ante Delija is a PFL standout who has broken away and is making his UFC debut. Style wise he is a pretty fun heavyweight. He throws bombs, he shoots takedowns. He is a very big 6'5. He has great control. He is a very good fighter and if he wasn't 35, would be an incredible addition to the roster.
