Maheshate Hayisaer vs. Gauge Young

MAHESHATE VS YOUNG

I hate breaking down fights like this because I do think Gauge is good, but he hasn't been able to show us anything at any real level. Mahashate isn't exactly a world beater, but we have seen him hang tough and sneak out some solid wins, including a flash over Steve Garcia. I think Gauge is the better fighter but without any actual success at this level, I need to go slight lean towards the local.

Maheshate Hayisaer

Maheshate is a fun striker who can hang in a firefight or dance the outside in a technical kickboxing match. He mixes in traditional martial arts techniques like side kicks with flashy ones like spinning or step in elbows. If you let him dictate the pace, you could have a long night, but if you stay in his face you can have success getting to his chin or grinding him to the ground. He is coming off the decision loss to Nikolas Motta where he was dropped twice but survived his way to a decision.

Gauge Young

Guage Young is a pretty well rounded prospect. He has solid technical striking and decent wrestling his well. He does a good job managing distance before finding his opening with the wrestling. When he shoots takedowns he does a decent job cutting angles and reshooting if needed. He is not particularly powerful, but is busy and well rounded enough to get wins. He is coming off the short notice debut loss to Evan Elder where he was pressuring forward but was getting hit.
