Luis Felipe Dias vs. Matthieu Duclos Pick, Prediction and Bets

DIAS VS DUCLOS

I think I like Matthieu here. Now my problem of course is that he is not as defensively sound as I would like him to be, especially against someone like Luis who is going to windmill punches on his way in for a takedown, but I do like his “sniper-esque” striking style where he bounces around, lands a big shot and then bounces around again. That may keep him too mobile to hit or wrestle. I am not going to bet here because there are far too many unknowns, but I am going to pick the dog here.

Luis Felipe Dias

Luis Felipe Dias is an ok striker with a hint of power. He doesn’t throw in combinations but he isn’t afraid to throw. His takedowns are mediocre but his jiu jitsu is very good and he is a real problem on the ground. He is not very big for this weight class and should be at 170, but he is very strong and manages to be physically imposing. He is coming off a KO win in his UFC debut where he was essentially spamming overhand rights.

Matthieu Duclos

Matthieu Duclos is a very good striker. He’s definitely more offense than defense but his offense is solid. He doesn’t really throw in volume, but when he does throw it is powerful and accurate. He picks his shots and is calculated with where he strikes. He loves to blast legs at range and elbows in the pocket. He can be hittable because he keeps his hands low, but he is constantly moving his feet so tries to avoid anything meaningful landing. There is grappling in the mix and I would categorize it as decent. He has decent takedowns and decent takedown defense.
