This is an out of left field fight. Lance hasn't fought in a year, Bobby Green wasn't scheduled to be fighting and then poof, bobby green vs a UFC debut on 4 days notice. All very bizarre, but here we are. This is a pretty straight forward breakdown. There's no way Lance will be the better striker so he needs to be the better wrestler. If you think he is, then boom, he has a chance, if you don't then that's kind of it. i don't. Unless Bobby is an absolutely disaster physically and shouldn't have accepted this fight, I trust that he will be in shape, I know he will be a great striker and as long as his cardio is fine, so will be the takedown defense. Bobby is the pick but considering this fight was announced 3 minutes ago, i have no idea about odds or bets yet.
King Green
Bobby Green is a busy striker with a showboat, hands at his waist style. He has great volume, incredible defense and slick wrestling as a backup plan. He has 11 knockouts under his belt which are typically volume and TKO but we have seen flashes of 1 punch KO power. He is on a bit of a skid lately with 2 finish losses in a row, most recently the insane spinning heel kick to Mauricio Ruffy.
Lance Gibson Jr.
Lance Gibson Jr is one of very few legacy UFC fighters. His father is Lance Gibson. Not a name you qill recognize unless you are a die hard fan, but he is an old school SEG era guy who first fought at UFC 24 in March 2000. His father being a fighter is important because he has been training since he was a literal baby. Style wise he is a very loose sriker with a wide stance. He loves changing from southpaw to orthodox and bouncing in and out of range. He is a wrestler by trade and does a good job lulling you into a striking match before shooting takedowns. On top he does a nice job improving positions while working forward. He doesn't take risks but does look for finishes.
