Junior Tafa vs. Kevin Christian Pick, Prediction and Bets

TAFA VS CHRISTIAN

Junior Tafa is not a good MMA fighter. His takedown defense, takedown offense and BJJ is atrocious. He is a mid tier kickboxer that decides to do MMA instead of kickboxing. So you can imagine how tall of a task it was for the UFC to find someone that Junior could possibly beat. But they somehow did it. Kevin Christian is 6'7 but fights like he is 5'3. He is too hittable and not rangy enough to win the striking exchanges, so now we need to see if he can get the takedowns. This is a race to the bottom, both guys are pretty horrendous. My gut is saying Junior is generationally bad so I should pick Kevin, but then my brain is saying that Junior is objectively the better striker. I'm fat, so lots of time and energy went into building this thing, it would almost be a slap to the face of every Popeye's chicken thigh I ever had if i didn't listen to it. So let's pick the shitty really tall fighter instead of the shitty regular tall fighter. In all seriousness though, All Kevin needs is a takedown here and as long as he avoids a bomb, he should be able to get one.

Junior Tafa

Junior Tafa is a kickboxer with power, footwork and a willingness to engage. He is a long and lean guy, especially for this weight class. He has power, a decent chin and clean striking technique. The problem is that his takedown defense lacks and there is an obvious hole to exploit. He is coming off the submission loss to Billy Elekana where he had billy dropped, but still couldn't defend the takedown or choke.

Kevin Christian

Kevin Christian is a massive guy at 6'7. Even though he is tall he doesn't his his range very well. He will fire knees up the middle but outside of that he swings wild and wide which leaves him open for takedowns. If he is taken down he is comfortable and has no problem throwing up submissions. While he doesn't use his range well standing, he does use it well on the ground. He has monster leg kicks and decent power. He is coming off his own submission loss to Billy Elekana where he was dropped and then choked.
