I already know that tons of money will be flying in on Elekana. Everyone will say that Junior sucks and just pick and bet the other side. And while I agree that Junior sucks, I think he sucks at MMA. This fight will be closer to a kickboxing match than MMA and in that style fight, Junior can absolutely win. I'd argue that if Elekana plays his typical patient counter striking game, he loses. He's the better overall MMA fighter though so I will lean his side, but we will need him to use his full MMA skillset and not just play kickboxer.
Junior Tafa
Junior Tafa is a kickboxer with power, footwork and a willingness to engage. He is Justin Tafa's younger brother but built very differently. He is long and lean instead of short and stocky and recently dropped down to light heavyweight. He has power, a decent chin and clean striking technique. The problem is that his takedown defense lacks and there is an obvious hole to exploit. He is coming off the submission loss to Tuco Tokkos where the takedown defense failed him again
Billy Elekana
Billy Elekana is a patient but heavy handed striker. He is a long guy and uses his length to keep range. He mostly backs up and looks to counter, but does have a nice step in jab. He has plenty of faints and twitches as well as solid takedown defense. Most Elekana fights will be slow paced on the feet for the first round or so before he eventually settles in and picks up the pace. He is coming off the submission win over Kevin Christian that started with a great counter shot that dropped him.
