Julius Walker is not great, but he’s certainly better than sad Garfield at this point in his career. Gerald is submission or bust and I just don’t see Julius being taken down and submitted by someone who seemingly gave up years ago., The days of being a human punching bag who can find a random submission are gone. Juilus is faster, more powerful, the better striker and a good enough wrestler to keep this fight standing. Even if it hits the ground, I don’t think it’s a guarantee he will be submitted. Julius is the pick and he probably wins by finish.

Julius Walker

Julius Walker has only been fighting professionally for 3 years and was rushed to the UFC. He is a big, fast athletic guy who can fight anywhere, but has to clean up a lot. There are some holes in his takedown defense, but he is defensively sound enough to avoid easy submissions. He has solid offensive BJJ and is very capable of finding something in a scramble. But while he has decent grappling, it is not going to work for him at this level. He is coming off the KO loss to Abdul Rakman Yakyahev.

Gerald Meerschaert

Gerald Meershaert is a very good grappler who is always live for a submission. He is not great on his feet and people question his chin and there is no soul left in his eyes. He is an incredibly talented grappler but like so many others, he doesn’t have very good offensive wrestling and even though he averages almost 2 takedowns per fight, he has a very low 29% takedown accuracy and hasn’t taken anyone down in his last 5 fights. He is coming off his 5th loss in a row, this time a decision to Jacob Malkoun.
