We have 2 guys that were both on the Contender Series, but neither one of them got the call up until now. Leka actually won his fight last season but wasn't exciting enough. Poppeck was on the Contender Series back in 2019 where he was knocked out by former world champion and all time great, Jamahal Hill. Poppeck is probably gong to be the more athletic of the two fighters here and certainly better footwork, but he doesn't really like to strike and will want to wrestle. That just isn't a great idea against someone much larger and on short notice. I think Leka gets the hands going, defends the takedowns and potentially finishes a gassed Poppeck in the later rounds.
Jovan Leka
Jovan Leka is a solid striker. He has a nice jab that he pumps and a good amount of kicks. He will touch the legs heavy and then work up to the head. Has more volume and cardio than most big boys but does lack in the wrestling. He doesn't typically use wrestling as a plan A, but he does utilize it if you are over extended or if he has you in trouble. He is fast, clean and athletic.
Alekander Poppeck
Alekander Poppeck is a light heavyweight who is stepping up on short notice so will be fighting at heavyweight. Style wise he is a mobile striker who bounces on his toes. He likes to stay on the outside, bounce in, touch, then back to the outside. He can wrestle as well and looks to get fights to the ground. When he is on top he ground and pounds to get you to react and then looks for a submission but if you don't give it to him, he is happy to punch or elbow to a finish.
