I know gut reaction here for most will be that Denzel sucks and Josh runs through him, but while that likely does happen, I am not ready to say Denzel sucks. His UFC debut was boring as all hell, but when he did actually throw strikes, you could tell he was fast, powerful and accurate. I think if Denzel had a sense of urgency, he could do well in a pretty lack luster division. I do however think Josh Hokit is just too much here. He is as good of a wrestler and a more powerful striker. He doesn't hesitate to engage and I think his immediate forward pressure will set the tone and get the win.
Josh Hokit
Josh Hokit is a solid prospect with a storied athletic past. He was a high level collegiate football player who bounced around between a handful of NFL teams before leaving the league and moving into MMA. As you would expect he is an athletic guy with speed and power. Despite having power in his hands, he sprints forward, gets big boy takedowns and then reigns down hell. He has great hips, great speed and can keep people on the ground. He is coming off the KO win over Max Giminis in his UFC debut.
Denzel Freeman
Denzel Freeman is a fun heavyweight who will knock you out, throw you, submit you and fight you everywhere. His highlights are impressive. he has a powerful headkick and clean boxing. If you pressure him, he will lower his level and shoot. If he gets you against the cage he will not just drag you to the ground, he will throw you. He will attempt everything from laterals to shoulder throws. He is a high level wrestler with great power but he did just do absolutely nothing in his UFC debut. Made more noises than he threw punches but he still got the win.
