Guys, Louie stinks. He is not good. Sure, he beat Tai, but at this point, almost anyone can. He had to wrestle and looked like he was in trouble 10 times. The problem here is that even though Louie stinks, I'm worried Jose does too. I think he is the better fighter, but if he needs to get this to the ground, his takedowns aren't great. I went and watched his loss and he was shooting takedowns from 25 feet away. The good news is that Louie's takedown defense is pretty bad and if Jose can eat a big shot on the way in, he should be able to get it to the ground and take over. Jose is the pick but this will end up being the definiton of a “Slug Fight”.

Jose Montanha

Jose Montanha is a big dad bod having grappler who is insanely aggressive and hunts for finishes both on the feet and on the ground. He comes forward, starts swinging big and as soon as there's an opening he will drop to the legs and work a takedown. His takedowns arent great and he can struggle against the cage, but once he gets to the ground he starts slicing right through your guard and advancing position.

Louie Sutherland

Louie Sutherland is a heavy handed striker who has the stance of a body builder, but is surprisingly versatile for someone with his build. He uses kicks and long jabs to manage range before commiting to power. When he lets his hands go he has a ton of power and a good amount of speed. He can be hittable which is concerning at this weight class but he does have wrestling as a backup plan which he used in his win over Tai Tuivasa.
