This is a really tough fight to pick but I do think where its taking place matters. I say that because this could look exactly like Delgado's last fight against Andre Fili, he was taken down a handful of times, but the striking was better by enough margin that the judges didn't care about the wrestling. But that was Vegas, a commission who notably doesn't care about empty takedowns. If this is happening in Oklahoma and Austin gets takedowns, which he will, this commission may be a bit more impressed with the control time. Austin is a good striker as well but he will definitely start diving at legs and if you think he wins, you will need him to get this to the ground. I think Jose Delgado is the better fighter and if this was Vegas he would be an easy pick. But it's not. I am a homer for wrestlers so I will pick Austin here, but this will be a decision and it will come down to how much those 3 judges care about takedowns without damage.

Jose Delgado

Jose Delgado is is rangy striker who uses kicks to stay outside. When he comes in he fights well inside the pocket with power and Mike Tyson style upper body movement. He can grapple as well with solid takedowns and ground and pound but his takedown defense definitely has some holes. He has great power and will take chances with spinning techniques. Overall he is a well rounded kid who has all finish wins. He is coming off the split decision win over Andre Fili where he was taken down, but lead the striking.

Austin Bashi

Austin Bashi is is only 23 years old but is 13-1 with a wide array of wins. He has very good striking, very good grappling and all around very solid. He is definitely a better grappler than striker with very real takedowns. He has no problem shooting open mat takedowns and then reshooting if he missed it. As soon as he is tied up he is working for a takedown but has no problem pivoting to a submission if the opportunity is there. He is coming off the first round submission win over John Yannis
