Jeremiah Wells vs. Themba Gorimbo

WELLS VS GORIMBO

2 years ago Themba Gorimbo was the talk of the town. The Rock gifted him an apartment and he was racking up wins in the UFC. Then he loses to Vicente Luque and even his own family called him a fraud and celebrated his demise. It is absolutely insane how quickly the tides turn and narrative shifts in MMA. I bring this up because I think a lesser person would be affected by the criticism, but no Themba. He has pulled himself up from his bootstraps and will do it again here. i think Themba stays safe and gets takedowns. this fight might look like his win over Niko Price. I get that Jeremiah is a great grappler, but BJJ off back at 39 years old, won't be enough.

Jeremiah Wells

Jeremiah Wells is a well rounded guy who has showcased his striking and his grappling in the UFC. He fights like a big powerful striker with explosive hands then effortlessly transitions into a grappler. He is a high level accomplished black belt that will shoot actual wrestling takedowns. He throws wild and with intent but the reality is that it's mostly there to setup his BJJ. He is coming off his second loss in a row, this time a close decision to Max Griffin.

Themba Gorimbo

Themba Gorimbo is a distance striker who manages range well and picks his shots. He is long for the weight class and uses that length to keep you at bay. He is typically a counter striker but he will charge forward when he sees his openings. He has solid takedown defense where he widens his base and makes his opponents carry his weight. He also has solid offensive takedowns with 17 takedowns in 6 UFC fights. He is coming off the submission loss to Vicente Luque which was setup with a short right hook.
