I like Alonzo Menified, I actually met him in person at the home depot by my house. He lives here in North Texas and Jacob has even bumped into him at the gym. When I met him at home depot we had a super quick chat where I congratulated him on his win. Two takeaways there, first, he is very humble, very normal and you would never know he was a professional fighter and second, he’s small. I don’t care what stats they list for him, he is smaller than that. he is not a big guy at all. With that being said, I don’t think he needs to be big to win here, he needs to be fast which unfortunately, at 39, I don’t think he is anymore. I think Iwo is too fast in the striking exchanges and if he needs to wrestle, the shots will be fast enough to get deep before Alonzo starts defending. Alonzo’s proven he can play spoiler to young prospects, like Oumar Sy and MingYang, but I do think Iwo is different and he is the pick.

Iwo Baraniewski

Iwo Baraniewski is a very exiting and well rounded guy. On the feet he is polish power with lunging right hands. He shoots well timed takedowns and then on the ground starts blasting away looking for finishes. He is very active and can take the fight anywhere. He is still pretty young in his career but outside of cleaning up the techniques that he already has, i wouldn’t say there are any glaring gaps in skills. He’s coming off another straight forward win where he needed only 6 strikes and a minute and a half to get rid of Junior Tafa.

Alonzo Menifield

At this point in his career Alonzo Menifield is an aging vet with lingering power. Typically he has great takedown defense and is always looking to take your head off with each punch. His striking can be wild and sloppy, but the power is undeniable. When Alonzo is coming forward and being the aggressor, he is a very dangerous guy but you can’t always trust his decision making or his chin. He is coming off the KO win over MingYang Zhang where he took shots but never cowered and continued to fire back.
