Bia Mesquita is the second juiced prospect making a ufc debut in a month. Last time was Alice Pereira in her loss at Noche and this fight could honestly look eerily similar. Irina kinda sucks at fighting, but as far as actual fist fighting is concerned, i will argue she is the better one here. She is not afraid to get hit, she is not afraid to engage, she has takedowns and grappling and as well. Now I do think Bia is so dangerous on the ground that if it gets there, she can find the sub. But anyone betting on Bia here needs to go watch Sambo fights and understand that Irina can defend takedowns and also has grappling skills. Bia is the pick and I will buy into the hype, but seek help if you're betting at -600.
Irina Alekseeva
Irina Alekseeva is a world Sambo champion who literally just walks forward and wings punches from her hips. She will walk you down like a zombie, throwing wild and then look to toss and grapple if you're tied up. Like most Sambo athletes she has some solid submissions and takedowns. She takes risks and gets taken down because of them, but doesn't care because she trusts her grappling off her back. She gets hit with literally anything that gets thrown at her but is tough. She is coming the decision loss to Klaudia Sygula where she ate 156 strikes.
Beatriz Mesquita
Beatriz Mesquita or Bia, depending on where she is listed, is a nasty grappler. Like one of the best female grapplers in the world. Her strikign isn't great, or at least she's not comfortable with it and the takedowns need work, but if a fight gets to the ground, its lights out. She is exactly who Mackenzie Dern was supposed to be. A death touch on the mat. She actually doesn't even need the mat and will climb your back against the cage and submit you from there.
