Gaston was originally fighting Joo Sang Yoo, A Korean fighter coming off a loss to Daniel Santos. Now he is fighting JeongYeong Lee, a Korean fighter coming off a loss to Daniel Santos. In his previous matchup he had to keep the fight standing and in this matchup he has to keep the fight standing. We have a different fighter, but the same fight. I actually was a little more confident in Yoo than I am in Lee. Lee will strike for longer before transitioning to wrestling. Hopefully for his sake, he fights this like he did against Blake Bilder. I'm going to pick Lee here, but I don't love it.
Gaston Bolanos
Gaston Bolanos is a solid striker with a solid muay thai background. He has good power and a willingness to engage. He does have some grappling holes that can be exploited but you'll need to get through his guard before you can work your takedowns. He is coming off the submission loss to Quang Le where he couldn't defend the takedowns.
Jeong Yeong Lee
Jeong Yeong Lee is a very well rounded fighter. He is explosive, poweful, confident and technical. He has a loose striking style that he manages with range as well as solid takedowns and grappling. He is very long for the division and he uses his length well by walking people down. He can be hittable because of his low hands, but he has an ok chin despite being knocked out by Hyder Hamil a coupel of fights ago. He is coming off the decision loss to Daniel Santos where he was taken down 6 times
