I don't know why Randy is the underdog here. I get this line being close, but I don't think Randy should be the dog. He is the better striker, has great range and solid takedown defense. Gabriel just went to a split decision against Wonderboy where a lot of people felt it went the other way. The reason that fight was close is because Bonfim was getting touched up on the feet so needed to go to his wrestling but even there he struggled a bit with the takedowns. Randy isn't as creative of a striker as Wonderboy, but he has incredible range and can box from the outside. I am going with the dog here and picking Randy Brown, especially if he can drag the fight out.
Gabriel Bonfim
Gabriel Bonfim is a very solid striker with high level boxing credentials as well solid BJJ. He is a well rounded guy who despite being more patient than his brother, has only been to 1 decision in 19 fights. He looks to strike early and then transition to wrestling if he doesn't feel a finish coming. When he gets it to the ground he is methodical with his control and works to positions first then submissions. He is coming off the split decision win over the best looking 40 year old on the roster.
Randy Brown
Randy Brown is a very good striker who uses his range really well. He's stupid tall for this weight class and takes advantage of that. He uses long jabs and kicks to keep you at bay and then when he's ready he will use his speed to initiate solid boxing exchanges. He has 9 takedowns in the UFC and while he doesn't go to them often, he has nice trips with solid jiu-jitsu on the mat. He's very good and a lot of fun to watch. He is coming off the KO win over Nicholas Dalby where he was dropped early but then came back with a monster second round.
