I hate that Prado is at welterweight, i think he is too small for this weight class and we saw that in his last fight. He has the skills and I will pick him to win here, but he will likely need to get this fight to the ground and the size difference will be an issue both shooting takedowns and keeping them. Thankfully for Prado Nikolay's defense just isn't there. So Prado is the pick, but the -160 odds are probably as far as I would go.
Francisco Prado
Francisco Prado is a power striker who comes in hot with big looping shots and head kicks. He has a nice Muay Thai clinch and insane power, but he also keeps his head straight up in the air and can be touched. He can grapple as well and while it is not his plan A, he can shoot doubles and use his power to scoop you up and slam you down. He's incredibly explosive, incredibly dangerous but does tend to slow down. He is coming off the decision loss to Jake Matthews in his welterweight debut, where he was literally, just too small.
Nikolay Veretennikov
Nikolay Veretennikov is a powerful and agressive striker. He plots forward and send everything with power. He will occasionally set things up with low kicks, but for the most part, he comes in, throws big hooks and launches rights. He is durable and has no problem with a dog fight. You can exploit his wrestling holes but even if you take him down, he stays busy and works his way back up. He is coming off the TKO loss to Austin Vanderford where the takedown defense was an issue.
