This is clearly a win or go home fight for two fighters that were once prospects. This is a hard fight to predict because i think Bonfim is the actual better fighter but he’s a quitter and Prado is tough as hell. So i have to go with the guy who i know won’t quit. Even if he’s a little slower and the cardio isn’t great, i know for a fact he will fight his ass off for a full 15 and the same can’t be said about Bonfim. The pick will be Prado here and as the week goes on we will see if my confidence grows or shrinks.
Francisco Prado
Francisco Prado is a power striker who comes in hot with big looping shots and head kicks. He has a nice Muay Thai clinch and insane power, but he also keeps his head straight up in the air and can be touched. He can grapple as well and while it is not his plan A, he can shoot doubles and use his power to scoop you up and slam you down. He’s explosive, dangerous and durable but does tend to slow down. He is coming off his fourth decision loss in a row, this time to Charlie Radtke
Ismael Bonfim
Ismael Bonfim is a wild striker with very real power and no regard for straight punches. He comes forward and throws every single punch from the hip. He will mix in flying knees and the occasional takedown. When he takes his time he can be accurate, powerful and have solid defense. He has actual boxing experience and high level BJJ but we have seen that he can be a quitter and isn’t very durable. He is coming off he submission loss to Axel Sola where he was rocked with pepper shots while working a takedown and then submitted.
