I've never really considered Edgar Chairez as a good fighter. I always saw him as someone who was tough and well rounded enough to at least hang. But when looking back at his UFC career so far, his only 2 losses are to the current world champion and the likely next contenter on short notice. His wins arent as impressive, but thats not his fault, those were his matchups. I'm not ready to say Edgar should be a parlay piece, but I do think he wins here. Felipe will need to get this to the ground to win and even if it ends up there, Edgar is too long and tricky to sleep on. Edgar should be the better striker and just as dangerous of a grappler. Edgar is the pick.
Edgar Chairez
Edgar Chairez is a decently well rounded fighter. His striking offense is fast and in your face, his takedowns are decent and his BJJ is very good. The only real issue for him is that he is hittable but he has a good enough chin that it doesn't matter. He will come forward, throw long kicks, box you up and then snatch up a single leg and look to get it to the ground. He is coming off the quick submission win over CJ Vergara
Felipe Bunes
Felipe Bunes is a BJJ Blackbelt with very slick submissions. He is always looking for something on the ground and is very fast in transitions and scrambles. Felipe isn't a BJJ nerd though. He will engage on the feet and shoot proper takedowns. He loves throwing a straight or overhand right and transitioning into a takedown. If you take him down, prepare to defend submission attempt after submission attempt. He is coming off the decision loss to Rafael Estevam where similar to your mother, he spent almost 11 minutes on his back.
