Douglas Silva de Andrade vs. Javier Reyes Pick, Predictions and Bets

DE ANDRADE VS REYES

Listen, Douglas doesn't suck, but he's 40, coming back after a long layoff and was just outworked by a guy who he himself gets outworked, so no, i'm not picking him. It's not often you get a 32 year old UFC debut coming off the Contender Series, but Javier earned this the old fashion way. Nothing flashy, nothing crazy, just volume and hard work. Douglas is the more skilled fighter, but at this age and after this layoff, no way can he be the pick. Javier is the pick and I think volume and speed will be the difference.

Douglas Silva de Andrade

Douglas Silva de Andrage has been around for a very long time and If you look at his record he's fought a lot of good people including former champions in multiple weight classes. He's a compact guy with solid boxing and lots of power. He has solid BJJ on the ground but it is mostly there as a backup plan because he does not initiate offensive wrestling very often. His ideal fight is a dirty boxing match inside the pocket or a ground fight on top where he won a scramble. He is coming off a decision loss to Miles Johns where he was a step behind in the striking.

Javier Reyes

Javier Reyes is a busy striker who throws a long jab and lots of kicks. He isn't insnaely technical, but he is always doing something. He has grappling as well with upper body takedowns and decent BJJ. His traditional takedowns aren't great but he's tough and scrambles well. For a guy with 27 fights he has a lot of things to clean up, including his striking defense, but he is a gamer.
