Watching both of these guys last fights can teach you a lot. If you watch Derrick's last fight you will learn that he has a bit of quit in him. If you watch Hokit's last fight, then you know he is all dog. This is honestly my most confident spot on this card. I don't care what anyone says about Derrick Lewis' power and that he is the all time KO king. I think those days are behind him and frankly, from what we just saw, Hokit might be able to eat a massive shot from Derrick anyway. Derrik has been and will always be KO or bust and when things don't go his way, he bails. I hate to say that a dude who can knock me out with a dirty look is a quitter, but he has quit in him. We saw it in his last fight, we saw it in the Gane fight and we probably see it in this fight too. Hokit is the pick and I am expecting some wild shit on the mic.
Derrick Lewis
Derrick Lewis is the KO king. He literally has more knockouts than anyone else in UFC history. But as we know by now, thats all he has. He is the most single threaded fighter in this division. He has incredible power but very low output. He can be taken down but literally just stands right back up. He's a powerhouse that is never out of a fight, but rarely in them. You never see him dominating a fight. It is literally him losing before the big punch or nothing at all before the big punch. He is coming off the TKO loss to Waldo Cortes Acosta where when he realized he wouldn't get the KO, he just stopped trying.
Josh Hokit
Josh Hokit went from relative nobody, to one of the most talked about people in MMA. But he isn't just a mouth piece. He was a two sport collegiate athlete with All American wrestling credentials and football skills that got him to the NFL. As you would expect he is an athletic guy with speed and power. Despite having power in his hands, he sprints forward, gets big boy takedowns and works on top. He has great hips, great speed and can keep people on the ground. He has dog in him and is willing slug it out despite being completely gassed. He is coming off the all time exciting fight with Curtis Blaydes.
