Darren Elkins vs. Yadier del Valle Pick, Prediction and Bets

ELKINS VS DEL VALLE

Darren Elkins has been in the UFC for 16 years. He had 26 fights in the ufc and went 19-7. Thats a solid career and on Saturday it is coming to an end as this is his retirement fight. While he may not fall into the category of all time great, he certainly earned more than an Apex sendoff to a young prospect. Poor guy is being fed to a kid the UFC is looking to promote in a small cage off the strip. As much as I would like to pick Darren because we all just saw how bad Yadier may actually be, I just can't. In theory Darren can come forward, grind takedowns and expose Yadier further, but in execution he is slower than ever and chinny. Yadier should win here, but these odds, after his last performance are laughable.

Darren Elkins

Darren Elkins is incredibly tough and literally wears it as a badge of honor in the form of scars. He is always live for a finish and is the definition of a grinder. He comes forward with heavy strikes to close the distance, cut off the cage and work his grappling. He is pretty good wrestler with incredible top pressure. He is coming off the KO loss to Julian Erosa.

Yadier del Valle

Yadier DelValle is a good grappler with solid striking and ok power. He will work knees in the clinch and not shy away from a slug fight. His cardio isn't great but it doesn't affect his volume. His takedowns are just ok, his takedown defense doesn't exist, but his submissions are solid. He will jump guily which can be frustrating, but he has a wide enough arsenal of attacks that he doesn't rely on a hail mary. He is coming off fraud check loss to Jordan Leavitt where he his kick was caught, he has taken down with ease and then he did nothing.
