No surprises here but this entire fight will come down to whether or not Eduarda can get the takedowns. Cong is clearly the much better striker and so far her takedown defense has looked good. The problem is we don't have the best sample size and Eduarda will be the best grappler she has fought to date. This fight being in Vegas has me leaning Cong. Even if she is taken down a handful of times, as long as she stays busy on the feet, she can squeak one out. Vegas hates wrestlers and this could look exactly like Eduarda's loss at UFC Louisville where she had 5 takedowns but lost the decision.
Cong Wang
Cong Wang is a professional kickboxer who made the leap to MMA. I mention this every time I break Cong down, but given how well it aged, I need to point out that she beat Valentina Shevchenko in kickboxing. She fights exactly how you would expect a decorated kickboxer to fight. She has incredible striking with power and speed and now it looks like she has a handful of takedowns as well. She is coming off the decision win over Ariana Lipski where she chopped the legs.
Eduarda Moura
Eduarda Moura is a grappler with solid takedowns and submissions. She is aggressive with her grappling and wastes no time coming across the cage, initiating a takedown and working. Her striking is a bit sloppy but like so many others, it's just there to setup the takedowns. She is coming off the win over Lauren Murphy where she got taken down early but reversed it instantly and remained a step ahead the rest of the fight.
