This should be a really fun fight and probably comes down to how much the judges value takedowns or not. I expect Clayton to get takedowns, I also expect him to chase submissions. The problem with that is he may lose positions when chasing and Jose can work back to his feet. Because on the feet I do expect Jose to be busier and frankly better. So if he can keep this fight standing long enough to do some damage, he can take a decision but if he is stuck scrambling for 15 minutes, like he was in his last fight, I think he loses another one. I'm picking Clayton here. I get it, he lost to Jafel who just lost to Cody who got KO'd by Jose… but MMA math doesn't account for styles. Clayton has a great chin, solid cardio and a willingness to engage. I don't see him getting flash KO'd like Cody kid and I certainly don't see him on his back.

Clayton Carpenter

Clayton Carpenter is a very slick grappler who will take wild chances hunting for submissions. He is a very fast paced guy who rushes forward and immediately sets the tone. He is always hunting for a finish and even though he is only 8-2 as a professional, he has a ton of competition experience and has won both the Gi and N- Gi Jiu Jitsu world championships. He is coming off his second loss in a row, this time a submission to Jafel Filho.

Jose Ochoa

Jose Ochoa is a well rounded guy who is happy to slug it out or work in grappling. His takedown defense is just ok but he does a great job defending the actual takedown instead of working in random pitter patter strikes or looking for submissions that aren't there. He has finishes on the feet but that has more to do with his incredible pressure and volume than it does raw power. He can be hittable but he's durable enough to hang. He is coming off the decision loss to Asu Almabayev where he was taken down 7 times, but was pretty scrappy and never accepted positions.
