Chase Hooper vs. Lance Gibson Jr. Pick, Prediction and Bets

HOOPER VS GIBSON

93% of people on Tapology picking Chase here is a bit surprising. Like I get that he is a name you are comfortable with, but he also hasn't beat someone his own age in years. He will not be the better striker here and potentially not the better wrestler. He will be relying on experience and BJJ which might be enough, but I am definitely weary. I 100% understand that Lance lost to King and the scorecards do not reflect truth, but I also understand it was a tough outing in a short notice UFC debut that has aged well. I'm going to pick Chase here because i do trust his experience at this level and if Lance wrestles Chase could sweep and control. Likely staying away from this fight.

Chase Hooper

Chase Hooper is a very slick grappler with improving takedowns and striking. It wasn't long ago that his takedowns didn't exist and neither did his striking. But just a few years into his UFC career and he isn't quite the baby faced dweeb the persona would have you think. He has looked great at 155lbs and is pretty large at 6'1. What he lacks in natural athleticism and physicality, he makes up for with high fight IQ and dangerous BJJ.

Lance Gibson Jr.

Lance Gibson Jr is one of few legacy UFC fighters. His father is Lance Gibson. His father being a fighter is important because much like Elijah Smith he has been training since he was a literal baby. Style wise he is a very loose striker with a wide stance. He loves changing from southpaw to orthodox and bouncing in and out of range. He is a wrestler by trade and does a good job lulling you into a striking match before shooting takedowns. On top he does a nice job improving positions while working forward. He doesn't take risks but does look for finishes. he is coming off the “split” decision loss to King Green in his short notice UFC debut.
