I hate that Border is stepping up on short notice, because I actually think he wins here but would love the confidence of a full camp. There is obviously a tremendous experience gap in this matchup but I would argue there is a talent gap as well. Bryce is obviously a dangerous grappler with ok wrestling but Santiago is a very good wrestler with very good striking and solid grappling. We just have to decide if Santiago can avoid being submitted or not because I don't see him being out struck or outwrestled to the point where he loses a decision because he was taken down. This fight is brand new, so we don't have odds yet, but I am expecting Bryce to be the favorite, so you can expect a bet on Santiago.
Bryce Mitchell
Bryce Mitchell is a dominant grappler who sticks to a gameplan. He averages over 3 takedowns per fight and just about 2 signifigant strikes per minute, so basically he is just diving at legs. His striking is awkward but he doesn't even pretend that he wants to strike, he keeps his hands low and starts crotch sniffing. If he gets you to the ground, which is almost a guarantee, he doesn't strike, he works for submissions, keeps control and has slick scrambles. He is coming off the decision wi nover Said Nurmagomedov where he was dropped in the first round but then turned it up and started wrestling.
Santiago Luna
Santiago Luna, more affectionately known as Border Boy, is a tough gritty kid with sneaky power and a never say die style. He is the physical embodiment of the Mexican fighting spirit. He is very athletic and has an incredible chin. Technique wise he kinda does it all. He can strike, he can grapple and while he needs to clean a lot of things up, he is definitely a tough night out for most people. He is an accomplished wrestler and we that in his last fight against Angel Pacheco where he had 5 takedowns.
