If this was 5 rounds I could potentially go down the path of Lone'er gassing as he seemingly did in his loss to Charles Johnson. But even that would be a stretch because we just watched him fight 5 solid rounds on short notice. Lone'er is the better striker and has plenty good takedown defense. Even in the fight where Charles Johnson caught him, he won that first round and basically got blasted with a beautiful counter hook. Even if you want to pretend he is chinny, show me who the hell Brandon Royval is knocking out in the UFC. He has over 2 hours of Octagon time and a single knockout over the very knockoutable Matheus Nicolau. Lone'er has to be the pick, but I do hope we get the same Royval we had in the Van fight, so we can see how good Lone'er actually is.
Brandon Royval
Brandon Royval is one of the most exciting guys to watch in the UFC. His striking is fast, powerful and diverse. His grappling is aggressive with tricky submissions and a willingness to chase them. He throws crazy, brings a ton of pressure and keeps coming forward. He is typically very durable but was just knocked out by Manel Kape.
Lone'er Kavanagh
Lone'er Kavanagh is a fast past striker with incredible movement and speed. Any descriptions I use about his speed, will not do it justice. He is probably top 5 fastest strikers in the division. He also has raw power so that combination has been working well for him. He can grapple as well with solid takedowns and great damage from top. He is coming off the short notice upset win over Brandon Moreno where he defended 8 takedowns and landed the cleaner strikes.
